Diaspora
According to a rough estimate there are around 19,000 Pakistanis residing in Japan. If we add up families which include wives and children, the number increases substantially.
Our community in Japan is among the pioneers in export of second-hand automobiles, carpet trade and Halal food in Japan. Majority of them are engaged in the export of reconditioned Japanese cars to Pakistan and other parts of the world. Some of them are also involved in export of plant and machinery to Pakistan. Many Pakistanis have also opened chains of restaurants and Halal food shops. They have acted as a bridge in forging closer ties between the both countries. Our community earned a great reputation and goodwill among the Japanese society by helping the people effected by Tsunami even in the remotest areas in 2011.
