1. NICOP (NATIONAL IDENTITY CARD FOR OVERSEAS PAKISTANIS) AND POC (PAKISTAN ORIGIN CARD)

NICOP & POC applications are processed directly by NADRA. Please visit website of NADRA www.nadra.gov.pk for applying NICOP and POC.

2. CHILD REGISTRATION

For registration of newly born baby child in Japan as Pakistani citizens, the following documents are required.

  • Forms S-I.
  • Two recent photographs (2 in x1.5 in) of the child with white background of professional quality. The pictures should not be older than 3 months. Copy of Koskitohan (In case of Japanese wife)
  • Copy of Nikkah Nama.
  • Birth Certificate of the child with both parents’ name on it. (preferably both English &Japanese)
  • Copies of the Passport & NICOP of Father and Mother (Mother’s NICOP must have Husband’s name on it).
  • In case of non-Pakistani Mother, an Affidavit signed by both parents declaring “No Objection” of the mother for registration of her child as Pakistani citizen.

3. RENUNCIATION OF CITIZENSHIP.

List of required documents:

(The following documents shall be attested by authorized Officer of the Mission, and may be arranged in the following order)

8 The copies of Nikah-nama/divorce papers, of the female applicant, if passport / NICOP is not modified with husband/father’s name respectively. 01
9 Any other relevant document. 01
10 Latest surrendered passport in original (one). Other passport(s) may be sent on receipt of Renunciation Certificate. 01+01

Note:

1. After receipt of Renunciation Certificate, the original NICOP/CNIC may be forwarded to Director (IOD), NADRA, Headquarters, G-5/2, Islamabad along with copy of renunciation certificate, under intimation to this Directorate General.

2. The Renunciation Certificate would be issued as per Form “X”. Therefore, name spellings on form “X”, NICOP, Pakistan Passport, Assurance letter/foreign Passport should be the same. In case of any variation/name change, an application with supporting document may be attached with the application.

  • Copies of the passports, NIC and residence card of both individuals.
  • 2 pictures of both individuals.
  • Copy of Kosukitohon
  • JPY 3000/- fee

POWER OF ATTORNEY / AFFIDAVIT

  • Two Photographs
  • Original Passport and CNIC of the sender.
  • Copy of residence card
  • Name, signature, address, phone number and Emails of two witnesses.
  • Copy of CNIC along with phone number and email of receiver.
  • JPY 1000/- fee per page.
  • In case the Power of Attorney / Affidavit is sent from Pakistan, it should be duly attested by MoFA/any of the Camp Offices of MoFA, Pakistan and presented not later than 3 months from its attestation.

4. Attestation Of documents

  • Any Document issued from Pakistan can only be countersigned by the Embassy, if it is attested by the Foreign Office in Pakistan either from Islamabad or from Camp Offices in four provinces.
  • Documents issued from Japan can be attested by the mission if attested by the Japanese Foreign Office.
  • The documents to be attested should not be older than three (3) months.
  • For Attestation of the Power of Attorney the person has to be present physically.
  • Education Certificates/ Degrees must be attested by HEC and MoFA before submission

PROCESSING TIME

In case if the applicant is physically present, documents are attested and returned on the same day. Documents subject to verification from authorities in Pakistan may take longer.

All documents can be processed through post if return envelope is also attached. Physical attendance is only required in attesting Power of Attorney and Affidavit.

APPLY VISA ONLINE

Government of Pakistan has stopped issuing manual visas w.e.f 1st February 2021. Please Visit Online Visa portal at https://visa.nadra.gov.pk/ for submission of E-Visa application.

Before visiting the Online Visa Portal, please review following general instructions:

  • All travelers entering Pakistan are required to provide their contact and travel information through the Pass Track App downloadable from Google App Store / Apple App Store
  • All inbound passengers of age 6 years and above will be required to possess a valid negative PCR Test Result conducted within 48 hours prior to commencement of travel to Pakistan. All arriving passengers of age 6 years and above will be tested through Rapid Antigen Testing upon arrival in Pakistan and those tested positive between age of 6 and 12 years will be Home Quarantined under the supervision of concerned Civil administration while positive passengers above 12 years of age will be Quarantined at a designated facility.   • Please carefully choose the correct category (Family Visit Visa, Tourism/Visit Visa, Business Visa etc) from the online visa portal to avoid unnecessary delays and inconvenience.
  • Please ensure that legible/clear copies of the required documents are uploaded. For specifications about the photograph.
  • • Applicants applying in Tourism/Visit Category are required to attach/upload invitation/sponsor letter from a Pakistani Host (Citizen/Organization) on an affidavit along with his/her Pakistani Identification Card, duly notarized. This is in addition to the online documents requirement at the online visa portal. In case, there is no invitee, applicant shall upload tentative schedule and places of visit during his/her stay in Pakistan along with booking/ proof of accommodation.
  • Applicants applying in Business Category are required to attach invitation letter from the company/organization in Pakistan and employment/recommendation letter from the company/organization in Japan.
  • Notarized Parent Consent Form for visa applicants under 18 years of age should be submitted in all visa categories
  • Indian Nationals are not eligible to apply visa online. Please follow detailed instructions for submitting manual visa application here

MACHINE READABLE PASSPORTS (MRP)

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

  1. Previous Passport(s) if any (along with its photocopy)
  2. Original valid NICOP/CNIC along with its copy (in case the age of applicant is 18 years or above)
  3. Residence Card.
  4. In case of Child under the age of 18, Original computerized form-B/CRC/NICOP along with its photocopy. The applicant will also produce photocopy of father/mother's CNIC, residence card of both parents and child along with their marriage certificate and Child Registration Certificate issued by the Embassy.
  5. Children under 15 years of age will be issued Passport having 05 years validity.
  6. Marriage certificate along with CNIC of Husband (to change name from father to husband)
  7. Please show accurate address (Present & Permanent) and contact number (Mobile) in the Form.
  8. In case of dual nationality, please show Passport of the country of whom nationality has been acquired.
  9. In case of lost Passport, double fee will be required first time. In case of second time, lost category will be charged four times and in case of third time if the passport is lost, approval of DG Directorate General Immigration and Passports Headquarter, Islamabad will be required.
  10. The applicant below 18 years of age shall be accompanied by either of his/her parents or legal guardians with letter verified by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad or court custody letter mentioning the custodian. Children under 15 years of age will be issued passport of 05 years validity.
  11. If the child is less than 18 years of age, then both parents have to visit the embassy along with their child. Incase if any one of the parents is unable to visit the embassy, then the affidavit of the parent, who is not accompanying the child is mandatory. "The affidavit must state that there is no separation and custody case filed in court. The affidavit shall be signed and thumb impression must be affixed".
  • (NOTE: If any one of the parents/both the parents are in Pakistan then the affidavit shall be duly attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan).

Documents required for Lost Passport ( MRP )

  • Passport Copy (If any).
  • Passport Number (Compulsory).
  • Police report clearly mentioning the current passport number which is lost (Compulsory).

  1. Original document will be acceptable, Photocopies of any of the above document will not be accepted.
  2. Presence of applicant is mandatory for taking picture &finger prints in case of processing first passport of child.
  3. NOC required from parent department for Officials bearing Diplomatic/ Official passport.
  4. Asylum/Refugee/Political seekers cases are referred to IB for NS/Security clearance and after that applied MRP will be issued accordingly.
  5. Online renewal of passports can be done through onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk
