There is immense potential in the strengthening of bilateral Pakistan-Japan trade relations to mutually capitalize on Pakistan’s economic growth capacity. Pakistan has a significant export share in total products for Japan and the same is true for Japan’s import share in total products for Pakistan. Pakistan specializes in the exports of textiles, agro-food products and engineering and minerals. Pakistan has established Special Economic Zones to facilitate the Japanese and foreign corporations in investing in the country’s export opportunities through specifictax exemptions, exemptions on import duties and infrastructure provisions e.g. electricity. Export processing zones similarly provide incentivessuch as exemptions on import duties for machinery, equipment and materials, import regulations not applicable, sales tax on inputs such bills, and regulations on exchange controls

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan aims to promote a ‘quantum leap in Pakistan’s export facilities’ through a holistic trade development approach and the promotion of foreign investment. Pakistan Export Gallery

Launched by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, the Virtual Pakistan Export Gallery showcases more than 1,000 images of 66 products from major export sectors which are accompanied by a description and list of exporters of relevant products.
